Presentation of ConcordiaWhat is Concordia ?

Concordia Concordia is a non-profit organization founded in 1950 by English, German and French youngsters. Their aim was to promote new values of tolerance and peace after the Second World War by organizing international work camps of young volunteers.
This year, Concordia is celebrating its 59th anniversary! Concordia has kept the same approach since then by bringing together young people from more than 60 different countries. At present in France, in addition to its Paris head office, Concordia is represented by 8 regional delegations: Aquitaine, Auvergne, Ile-de-France, Picardy/Nord Pas de Calais, Normandy/Maine, South South-West, Rhone-Alps and Brittany.

The permanent teams in each part of the country are responsible for:

  • the development and follow-up of projects according to the organization’s areas of focus;
  • the recruitment of technical and team work coordinators;
  • the development of regional partnerships with city councils, local authorities and organizations;
  • the setting up and follow-up of the international work camps set up by local authorities);
  • community work development.

This local aspect of the organization, in close collaboration with the Paris national head office, which coordinates the activities, enables you to prepare as well as possible young people’s stay in the French international work camps.

Concordia is run by a Board of Directors composed for the majority of young volunteers.
But Concordia also counts 1800 members, more than 28 employees and 200 coordinators.
