PRESENTATION DU PROJET AMICUSThe Amicus Preparatory Action steps up the European Union's commitments in the field of youth mobility by offering the opportunity to give a transnational dimension to youth civic service and volunteering placements.
The Amicus Preparatory Action general objective is to stimulate the argument at a European basis on the meaning of the Civil Service identifying the values which are placed in the civil Service around different countries. To individualize the values and the role that the civil Service has in the Union in terms of participation to the creation of a citizenship and a founded European Nation founded on solidarity, peace and intercultural dialogue. Consequently, the Civil Service directly lived from the young people could represent the tools in order to facilitate and accelerate the sharing of the “European collective” and therefore the creation of the Europe Nation through the comparison of the experiences of civil Service in several countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Poland e Cyprus.
The various degree of maturity of civil Service (Poland and Cyprus are countries where the experiences of civil Service and voluntary Service are more recent) in the different countries concurs to identify, analyze, compare and, therefore to stimulate, the creation of the Europe nation and the European citizenship with a bottom – up approach, that is from the bottom. Indeed, the main actors of this process are the AMICUS volunteers, that living directly with other young people in Service will have the opportunity to learn in a not formal way and to experience the founding values of the civil Service in a transnational dimension.
The young people “will not only study” the phenomenon civil Service in the hosting Country (indeed, we will have to made a research about the Service Civil Volontaire) but they will also live in first person the experience of the Service, based on the programmed conditions of engagement with every partner, for being able to discover the contents and the functions of the civil Service.
