Cette association à but non lucratif a été créée en 2001 et oeuvre pour l’environnement et la paix. Ses projets sont accès principalement sur l’environnement. Avis aux amateurs de grands espaces naturels et de Fjords !!!
Pour vous rendre sur le chantier (en dehors de Reykjavik), vous aurez le choix entre prendre les transports en commun et le mini-bus de WF Iceland dont le coût supplémentaire vous sera précisé dans la feuille de route (à titre indicatif le coût pouvait atteindre jusqu'à 90€ pour un aller en 2011 mais des arrêts sont prévus sur le chemin afin de permettre aux volontaires de profiter du paysage).

Projet : The northernmost Fjord in the Eastfjords is called Borgarfjörður Eystri, where also the small fishing village with the same name is situated on. It is located in a dramatic spot, in between rhyolite peaks and the Dyrfjöll Mountains (1136 m). The area is very famous for stories of elves. Locals even believe that the queen of Icelandic Elves lived in the town. Álfaborg (Elf Rock), a small nature reserve is a tourist highlight of the area until now.
Travail : There are many hiking trails in the area – we will make a new trail along the seaside. We will also help the locals with all kind of small projects in the local community and clean the coastline.
Hébergement : In a fully equipped family house owned by the local community, participants are asked to bring a sleeping bag. The food will be provided for the duration of the work camp and everyone is expected to do their fair share of the cooking/cleaning. It would be nice to share new and different dishes, so please remember to bring along recipes from your own countries.
